GMod / DarkRP Discord server setup: jobs, staff ranks, VIP, reports, and evidence
A GMod Discord succeeds when players can see the rulebook, staff can see the evidence, VIP access stays controlled, and reports do not turn into public arguments.

GMod servers live or die by enforcement clarity
DarkRP and Garry's Mod communities are old-school, fast-moving, and moderation-heavy. Players need to know what the jobs allow, what evidence is required, where VIP access is handled, and how staff decisions can be appealed.
- Keep jobs, rules, VIP, reports, appeals, and applications visible.
- Separate player reports from staff reports.
- Make evidence standards specific: SteamID, Discord tag, time, job, witnesses, clip.
- Audit VIP and staff role access every week.
Do not let every report become public chat
A player report route is not the same as a staff abuse route. Staff complaints need a private senior-review path, recusal rules, evidence archive, and a close note that proves the complaint was handled.
Applications should have a verdict loop
Job, staff, VIP, and special-role applications need questions, owner review, approval/denial templates, role changes, and first-session expectations. Otherwise applicants only learn the process by asking staff in DMs.
The minimum Discord structure
- Welcome, rules, jobs, VIP info, announcements.
- General, screenshots, suggestions, applications.
- Player report, staff report, VIP access, job application, bug report, appeals.
- Staff log, evidence archive, admin room, trial staff.
