FAQ
How long should our whitelist application be?
Most successful WL-only servers land on 5–8 substantive questions plus a free-text scenario question. Aim for 15–25 minutes of applicant time. Longer than that filters for unemployed people with too much time; shorter misses ban-evaders.
What's the auto-accept threshold on a 10-point scale?
Default is auto-accept ≥ 8/10 if reviewer scores agree (within 1 point). If they disagree, escalate to panel vote. Track post-WL retention by score bucket for the first 60 days, then tune thresholds based on which bucket retains best.
Can staff whitelist their friends?
Document the rule explicitly: 'Staff with personal relationships to an applicant must escalate to a colleague.' This recusal rule is included in the Staff SOP doc. Without it, friends-and-family bias destroys community trust.
How do we handle someone re-applying after denial?
Cooldown of 14 days minimum, 30 days for high-effort denial reasons. The Ban Appeal Workflow doc includes a 're-application' branch covering this case. Reviewers should see why the applicant was denied last time without re-reading the original application.
What if our panel is just 2 people right now?
Document a tie-break: typically the Owner or Head Admin breaks ties. The generated SOP scales to your staffCount input — '1-5 staff' versions assume small panels and bake tie-break rules in. Don't try to run a 'majority of 3' rule with 2 reviewers.
